Two new soda machines paper models with Pepsi and Dr.Pepper skin. Scale models 1/20.
The VENDO MODEL 81 was introduced in the mid 1950’s and produced until around 1960 when it was replaced by the new “square corner” machines. It held 81 bottles of Coke with a new method of dispensing, departing from the usual drum mechanism, this machine holds 9 bottles on each of 9 shelves. The shelves are slanted towards a glass door on the left of the machine. The shelves are adjustable to accommodate 6, 10, or 12 ounce bottles giving this machine more versatility than most of the other models.
Due to its classic design the VENDO 81 has become one of the most desired vintage soda machines with collectors (Real dimensions: 58”H x 27”W x 16”D).
Pepsi Cola
The recipe for the soft drink Pepsi was first developed in the 1880s by Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist and industrialist from New Bern, North Carolina. Like many pharmacists he had a soda fountain in his drugstore, where he served his customers refreshing drinks that he created himself. His most popular beverage was something he called “Brad’s drink,” a mix of sugar, water, caramel, lemon oil, kola nuts, nutmeg, and other additives. He coined the name “Pepsi-Cola” in 1898. As the cola developed in popularity, he created the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1902.
Dr. Pepper
Dr Pepper is a carbonated soft drink marketed as having a unique flavor. The drink was created in the 1880s by Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas and first served around 1885. Dr Pepper was first nationally marketed in the United States in 1904, and is now also sold in Europe, Asia, Canada, Mexico, Australia. Variants include a version without high fructose corn syrup, Diet Dr Pepper, as well as a line of additional flavors, first introduced in the 2000s.
